Spike mat - History

For thousands of years ago, Indian yoga practitioners use what is now one of our most talked about and selling products - The spike mat.
In India, the mat was used to remove physical and mental blockages by stimulating the body energy points. Thus, the mat design associated with the Chinese science of acupuncture designed to treat illnesses and imbalances in the body.
In the 1980s, the Russian Kuznetsova treated his paralysis injuries with nails. Kuznetsov was so pleased with the result that he started a mass production of the product.

In today's nail mat, or spike mat which is another name for it, the wood has been replaced with textile and the spikes have been replaced with about 6000 plastic nails.

When you use a spike mat, it is recommended that you first put it on a smooth surface and then rest against the protrusions of the skin. The first minute you feel a slight tingling sensation, but the intense pain being missed. It must be "good-evil".

As a beginner, you can lie on the spike mat between ten and fifteen minutes per session, and after a while between twenty and forty.


The effects from the spike mat are controversial and not fully established scientifically. Manufacturers say that when you are using the spike mat it will reduces pain, lowers blood pressure, release endorphins, increases metabolism and relax.
